July 11-14 History Explorers Summer Camp

The Museum of the Coastal Bend presents "History Explorers Summer Camp." Campers will experience 4 days packed with history, art, science, and many different hands-on activities for children ages 9-12. Camp begins at 9:00am and ends at 2:30pm.

Wednesday—Art of Texas: Paint your own Texas landscape using paints made from berries, become and archaeologist and try re-assembling pottery, and work on an enrichment project for the Texas Zoo.

Thursday—The History and Science of Toys: Learn about Newtonian fluids with home-made slime, discuss what toys of the past are still popular today, and work together to create the biggest bubbles.

Friday—Native Animals of Texas: Find out what animals and plants are native to Texas, learn what bones can tell us about the past, and spend some time with some special guests from the Texas Zoo!

Registration fees are $65 ($59 for members). Pick up and drop off are at the museum. Lunch will not be provided. Children are encouraged to bring their own lunch and snacks. Please no peanuts or peanut butter.
