May 13 Nature Walk - Foraging Wild Foods & Medicine

Saturday, May 13; 10:30 a.m.
Riverside Park; meeting location to be announced.
Discover foraging with noted native plant expert, Mark “Merriwether” Vorderbruggen, author of "Idiots Guide: Foraging", to gain insight about safely and ethically collecting local wild plants for food and medicine. Wear walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Pen/pencil and a camera are recommended. FREE; recommended for ages 12 & up.

ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for the walk as space is limited. Call 361-582-2559 to register.    

The walk will be followed by a lecture at the museum beginning at 12:30pm. Copies of Vorderbruggen’s book, “Idiot’s Guide: Foraging”, will be available for purchase in the museum store. “Hands-on History: Texas Plants” interactive activities for children and families will be held from 10am – 4pm in the museum’s galleries.
