LEARNING ABOUT THE PAST

At the Museum of the Coastal Bend you have a chance to learn the way you choose.
You can explore on your own, listen to an audio tour, or join a tour led by a museum volunteer.

Some people ask: “Why visit a museum?” The Museum of the Coastal Bend offers the opportunity to expand your knowledge and encourages self-directed learning. You will find the region’s heritage on display in interpretive exhibits, available in hands-on stations, and
recorded as an audio tour.

If your school group is unable to visit the Museum, check out our Traveling Trunk Program.  Sponsored by The Victoria College Foundation, these trunks are designed with activities, artifacts, memorabilia and other items that represent themes examined within the mission of the Museum of the Coastal Bend.  Themes include Objects From the Past:  Archeology of the Texas Coastal Bend, La Salle's Travels & Fort St. Louis, and Western/Ranching.  Trunks are offered free of charge to regional schools; please contact MCB Education at 361-582-2559 to check out a trunk.
